About the Richmond Lacrosse Association Executive Board

Our entire organization is run by volunteers.  With their assistance the children of Richmond are able to enjoy this great sport.  Each year all positions for the executive come up for election.  These positions are for a one year term that starts in November.

We encourage you to attend our Annual General Meeting in November to get involved with our Association at any level.

President (elected)


Preside over executive meetings

Prepare agenda for meetings

Attend Lower Mainland Commission meetings

Work with VP’s and exec members to help fulfill their obligations on the board

Ensure a quorum is available at all meetings

Accept phone calls and any correspondence on behalf of the Association


VP Minor (elected)

Help executive members fulfill their obligations

Work with the Coaching Coordinator, Div. Coordinators and Coaches

Fulfill duties of president in his/her behalf


VP Senior (elected)

Work with Head Coach and Management of senior teams

Fulfill duties of president in his/her behalf


VP Field (elected)

Work with Head Coach and Management of field teams

Fulfill duties of president in his/her behalf


Secretary (elected)

Attend executive meetings to record minutes and distribute copies of same to all executive members prior to next meeting

Maintain Association records and files

Send reminders to executive members to remind them of date and time of meetings

Arrange bookings for board meetings and AGM


Treasurer (elected)

Maintain books for the RLA

Prepare financial statements for year end (AGM)

Pay all approved association bills

Prepare budget for approval at AGM

Monitor and report on account(s) balances

Apply for gaming funds as necessary


Registrar (appointed)

Coordinate and mail out registrations (if required) to the membership

Coordinate a committee for registration day and prepare all paperwork

Keep an updated registration list in all divisions and make available for Coaches and Executive Members

Ensure all members are properly registered with the BCLA


Scheduler (appointed)

Provide LMMLC with game slots for tiering and league games

Coordinate with RACA game slots required according to registration

Coordinate with Team Management any TBR’s

Advise Ref Allocator of any changes in games

Check invoices for arenas, ensuring we are billed correct amounts; advising treasurer to bill out any time used by other (not minor) teams


Equipment Manager (appointed)

Maintain an inventory of all uniforms and equipment

Distribute all equipment and uniforms at the beginning of the season

Responsible for purchasing additional uniforms and equipment

Arrange for repair of damaged equipment

Monitor the storage facility

Distribute crests to teams as sponsors are identified

Coordinate the return of all equipment and uniforms at the end of the season


Head Referee

Select referees, and recruit new referees for the season

Monitor new referees by attending some of their games

Attend LMOA meetings


Referee Allocator (2) (appointed)

Get list of available referees from Head Ref

Get schedule for Scheduler and assign refs to games


Coaching Coordinator (appointed)

Assign Coaches to teams

Maintain a Coaches file-update with levels of certification, etc

Ensure all coaches are notified of Coaching Courses

Help to coordinate player evaluations and team selection if required

Act as a liaison between coaches and the executive

Attend LMCA meetings


Division Coordinators (4) (appointed)

Oversee general activities of lacrosse teams

Act as a liaison for the players and parents between the coaches and executive


Sponsorship Coordinator (appointed)

Coordinate al executive fundraising activities

Approach past and potential team sponsors for sponsorship of teams

Make sure the teams have on their sponsor bars

Ensure sponsorship plaques are delivered to the sponsors within a reasonable time frame along with a thank you letter.


Media Liaison (appointed)

Submit stories on behalf of RLA to local papers regarding Registration, league start ups and other points of interest during the season (approx 4 articles)

Help teams coordinate stores for the local papers


Members at Large (4) (appointed)

Organize picture day (and retakes)

Organize Lacrosse Float for Salmon Festival Parade as necessary

Assist other executive members if required


RACA Representative (2) (appointed)

Attend monthly meetings on behalf of RLA

Reports on RACA at executive meetings


Website Administrator (appointed)

Maintain RLA Website

Update site as necessary with info from executive
