Roadrunner U16's won gold, the U12's worked their tails off for Silver and the U14s finished at 1-and-2 at the Tier 2 Provincials in Victoria. Stay tuned to the local papers for details of the U16 triumph.
Here is a note from VP Field PAUL SAHOTA... Download Note from Paul Sahota.doc
The U12's meanwhile were led to silver by their strongest team efforts at the right time of the season. From their gunners Sam Evanson and Chase Pretti-Pearsall to the all around play of the likes of Kieran McKay, William Dewerson and Cooper Yates to the goaltending of Luke Steenge it really was a total team effort. Timely goals by Jack Nett and the first-ever Field goal for Marc Sahota also played factors.
Long forgotten was the squeaking into Provincials as the kids showed what their parents knew they were capable of, losing out to nemesis Delta in the final after almost coming out on top during round robin play against the Footmen. Well done boys!
The U14's meanwhile found themselves struggling with the details on the opening day, and before the day was over they were 0 and 2 and their Provincials were over. The 'Runners did salvage some pride on day 2 with a victory in the last game against Adanacs, a team they hadn't beaten in 2 previous attempts. The eventual medallists were all Island and Interior teams which proved to be well above the rest of the Tier 2 competitors.
